How To: Self-Service Wash

  • A golden retriever dog getting groomed in a pet grooming salon. The dog is on a grooming table while a person holds a grooming tool above it.

    Step One

Guide your dog up the ramp and into the tub. Secure the adjustable grooming loop around your dog’s neck. You can pre-brush your dog before the bath or after the drying process!

  • A person giving a bath to a dog in a stainless steel grooming tub, with cleaning supplies and towels nearby.

    Step Two

Use the sprayer to set a comfortable water pressure for your dog. Our water temperature does not go any higher than 98 degrees to ensure you don’t burn your dog.

  • A man in a gray shirt and black shorts getting a bath in a metal tub with a golden retriever dog. The dog is sitting, wet, and looking at the camera with tongue out. The man is wearing a gray cap and black apron, with his back to the camera, in a veterinary or grooming room.

    Step Three

Wet your dog down and lather the shampoo all over their body. Rinse this out completely and do the same process with the conditioner.

  • A person grooming a large brown dog inside a grooming station with stainless steel walls, using a handheld dryer. The person wears a gray t-shirt, white apron, and has blonde hair tied with a clip. There is a cart with grooming supplies beside them, and a black mat on the wooden floor.

    Step Four

Dry your dog with our provided towels and/or our Professional Dryer. Ask us about our Happy Hoodies that help with the drying process. Finish with brushing and deodorizing spray. Your dog is guaranteed to leave smelling great!

Helpful Tips

  • We offer lick pads filled with peanut butter to help with the bathing or drying process. Great for food motivated dogs.

  • Bring your dog’s favorite treats to reward them during the bath or buy one of ours.

  • Go slow and work at your dog’s pace to keep them comfortable.

  • Happy Hoodies can help with the drying process! They go over their ears to muffle the sound of the professional dryer.

  • Have fun and enjoy the process! Your dog feeds off your energy. If you’re anxious or scared, your dog will be too.

  • Make sure not to get soap or water in your dog’s ears or nose. Hold the ear closed when rinsing shampoo/conditioner out. Also be careful not to get shampoo in the dog’s eyes.

  • Always start out on the lowest speed with the professional dryer. You can slowly increase the speed.

  • We offer a variety of combs and brushes for your use. Always be careful around sensitive areas and don’t press down too hard, as it can damage their skin.
